I was rewatching Iron Man and noticed Tony’s subtle reaction for the first time:

Tony is showing Obadiah his arc reactor, this hidden secret, this flaw. He’s nervous, he looks around because Obadiah looked around. It’s 100% personal. Tony (almost) literally opens up his heart.
Obadiah hurriedly shoves it away. It’s an embarrassment. It’s bad for business. It’s ugly.

As Tony looks at his mentor’s hands,  his heart is broken a little bit more.
